Payroll Specialist Details

  • Manage and process full cycle payroll for the Company.
  • Maintain payroll related records; obtain tax filings from 3rd party processor, and voluntary deduction reports.
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Setup each employee, monitor submissions of approved timesheets, and ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service.
  • Complete bank account reconciliations.
  • Initiate EFT payments and complete bank deposits.
  • Monitor incoming cash receipts, notify project management and accounting staff of receipt of owner funding.

  • Ensure B&O/Sales Tax payments are made timely.
  • Oversee and review work of Accounts Payable Accountant and Accounts Payable Clerk for accuracy.

We are currently hiring a Project Accountant to join our Accounting team.  The Project Accountant is responsible for fulfilling the project accounting and cost accounting requirements for projects, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that project contractual requirements related to finance are followed by project team, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate monthly billing process with the project team(s) and subcontractors.
  • Complete and submit monthly applications to client according to contract terms and accurately record data in accounts receivable.
  • Provide client and project team with additional information and supporting documentation for billings as requested.
  • Research and resolve partial or unpaid receivables.
  • Assist with reporting project financial status.

  • Manage project financial close-out process.
  • Exercise discretion and effectively communicate with Project Managers, regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to billing.

Project Engineer Details

The function of a Project Engineer (PE) is to manage and support the field operations on various assigned projects. You will report to the Project Manager, but job one is to make sure the superintendent has the material, equipment, subcontractors and information needed to get the job correctly done on time, one time. In this function, the PE is responsible to understand and achieve the clients’ goals while protecting and promoting the interests of Venture in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy responsibilities.

 

Job Functions

  • Write, transmit, and track request for information (RFI) per contract documents, and distribute to appropriate subcontractors
  • Review submittals and shop drawings prior to submission to architect.
  • Compile a submittal log, based on contract documents, that is tied to the master project schedule so it may be used as a buyout log
  • Review, transmit, and track submittals. Ensure responses are routed to all relevant subcontractors.
  • Maintain a permit tracking log to ensure appropriate sign offs and timely renewals.
  • Assist superintendent with field measure and layout to assure procured materials comply.
  • File, track, and transmit sketches and memos that result after construction documents are issued.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of drawings and other relevant contract documents.
  • Track and assist the Superintendent to schedule required pre-con meetings.
  • Collect and maintain as-built and redline drawings for project closeout.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs as required.
  • Review front-end documents and understand the requirements expected of VGC.
  • Preparation of Bidders Lists; provide the list of qualified subcontractors, reviewed with Project Manager (PM) and Management.
  • Issuing drawings and specifications to subcontractors for bid.
  • Send bid invitations to selected subcontractors and vendors.
  • Assist PM in writing instructions to bidders
  • Review subcontractor bids for compliance to the contract documents, and identify any long lead items.
  • Assist Project Manager with qualifications and assumptions for bid proposals and GMP proposals for the client.
  • Prepare and issue purchasing documents (i.e.: Subcontracts, Purchase Order, Service Agreement, and Professional Service Agreement) with the PM for management signature.
  • Assist with the preparation a cost sheet for each project to maintain purchasing control.
  • Expedite any long lead materials if necessary or requested by the Owner.
  • Assist and support the Project Manager with the project start up meeting.
  • Coordinate the assigned work tasks, prepare the project schedule and maintain the project schedule throughout the project.
  • Assist and support the Project Manager with the weekly Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and prepare weekly meeting minutes.
  • Support field in expediting schedule, completion of field paperwork, expediting materials.
  • Prepare the monthly Cost Report for all projects with the Project Manager and Accounting, track and project profitability.
  • Assist superintendent in managing and tracking all field costs and expenditures, including future projections.
  • Prepare the monthly Cost Report for all projects with the Project Manager and Accounting.
  • Attend and setup punch list walk-through with Architect.  Compile the punch list and forward to all subcontractors.
  • Provide required close out information to the client at the end of the project (record drawings, O&M, warranties)
  • Assist PM to make sure the project is 100% closed out in Accounting.

Position Qualifications

  • College degree in construction management or relevant field. Years of experience in a similar or related position will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction field.
  • Ability to work in an office environment as well as in the field as requested.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office products including Outlook.
  • Ability to learn company specific software as needed or required.

  • Keep management informed on progress of project and budget through regularly scheduled meetings with the Partners.
     

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree plus a minimum of ten to fifteen years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a variety of individuals and groups, owners and owner’s  representative, architects, engineers, subcontractors, individual employees, jobsite teams, and company executives.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Project.
  • Utilizes leading-edge technologies such as BIM, Lean principals and has a LEED AP and OSHA 10 certifications preferred.
