Seattle Aquarium Animal Care Center
Tenant improvement for Seattle Aquarium Society
The Aquarium Animal Care Center (ACC) will be an 18,000 sf tenant improvement in a portion of a 46,000 sf timber-framed building that was built in 1931 and renovated in 1970. The ACC will house a number of warm and cold water saltwater aquarium tubs, tanks, life support equipment, food prep and food storage, restrooms, showers, offices, as well as veterinary and laboratory spaces. The Seattle Aquarium has a new exhibit building project known as Ocean Pavilion, which requires new animal holding and propagation facility for both warm and cold-water species of coral, elasmobranches, teleost fish species and invertebrates. This new holding facility will be known as the Animal Care Center (referred to as the ACC).
