The most fantastic magical things can happen, and it all starts with a wish. – Pinoccio
Venture partnered with Make-a-Wish Alaska and Washington for our major philanthropic effort in 2017. Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington is in the business of making children smile. They do whatever they can to grant as many wishes as possible to local children with life-threatening medical conditions. The joy that granting a child’s wish brings to the hearts of so many is inspiring, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to have been able to grant wishes for two young people battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Below is information on the Adopt-a-Wish children that we were honored to be paired with.
Courageous and energetic four-year-old Penny found out last week that she will be traveling to Disneyland with her family to meet all of the Disney princesses. The joy and excitement on her face when her favorite princess, Elsa from Frozen, gave her the news was incredible.
Tyson wished for a fort to spend time with his friends. Adorned with all of the odd and unusual things Tyson likes collecting, this prankster 12-year-old now has a place to call his own. A gift that he will make memories in for years to come.
“This has been the best thing for our family, to bring us together as one. Words can’t describe how awesome it’s been. It’s been the experience of a lifetime.” – Matt, Tyson’s dad
We want to thank our partners for joining us in raising money and supporting this worthwhile organization. Together, we reached 134% of our Adopt-a-Wish goal, raising a total of $33,658! Our collective efforts are realized in the joy on these young people’s faces.
In addition to granting two wishes this year, Venture is partnering with Make-A-Wish to present their first annual Wishtoberfest fundraiser. This new event with brilliant breweries, fabulous food, and amazing attendees will raise money to grant more local wishes for these courageous kids. We hope to see you at the Seattle Design Center in Georgetown to celebrate knowing that you’re making a difference in these kid’s lives.
